Kura started learning SOTC in 1996 in Palmerston North. Before starting Sing Ong Tai Chi, Kura had studied martial arts for a number of years.Kura says, "Sing Ong tai chi has many health benefits for me. My lifestyle has always been rather hectic and Sing Ong tai chi gives me some balance and release of the pressures of everyday life. Sing Ong tai chi has taught me to see life in a healthier and more forgiving way. In training learning occurs with practice and understanding one's own body. I have found that the depth of training with Sing Ong tai chi is expansive and rewarding although my learning is very often at a slow pace. It teaches me about the dualities of open-close, up-down, front-back, top-bottom, and the holistic nature of Sing Ong Tai Chi instruction. Sing Ong Tai chi informs and assists me through challenges of everyday living. Sing Ong Tai Chi has taught me to be more aware and watchful of what is going on around me. Sing Ong Tai Chi has become a lifetime commitment for me. There is so much to learn. I count my lucky stars that I am a student of Sing Ong Tai chi and will be for as long as I live."
